A donation from the Friends of the Centro Giacometti, made on July 28, 2025, has made it possible to realize a project that had been in development for some time. Visitors to the Bregaglia Valley will be able to find engaging and accessible answers to some of the questions they most frequently ask, such as: “Where is the Giacometti family home?” or “How was Giacometti able to build an international career despite coming from a remote, narrow Alpine valley with a strong agricultural tradition?”
Conceived as an interactive question-and-answer experience, the video installation is housed in the basement of Giovanni Giacometti’s birthplace in Stampa. It not only addresses these questions but also introduces visitors to the history of the Giacometti family of artists.
Scheduled to open in 2026, the presentation has been designed as a permanent exhibition and is available in Italian, German, French, and English.
